Hassan Hassan was arrested on October 23, 2018. He was accused of assassinating the officer in the National Security Agency, Ibrahim Azazi Sherif, and participating in the attack on a security checkpoint in Nasr City, east Cairo, that resulted in the murder of seven policemen, in addition to the attack on a police car on the Faiyum road, and the planning of arsoning the election campaign headquarters of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in 2014. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in case No. 123 of 2018, Eastern Cairo military felonies.
