Ibrahim Abd El-Rahman was arrested as a minor on January 3, 2014, during the dispersal of Sadat city demonstrations in front of the Al-Nour Mosque in the 8th district. He was charged with joining a banned organization, blocking the highway, and possessing Shammarikh, Molotov cocktails and nail balls to disrupt police forces. He was detained pending investigation.
