Maha Kamal was arrested on March 24, 2018 by the Court of the Institute of Police Secretaries of Batra for assaulting a female police officer while attending her brother’s trial. She was presented the next day before the prosecution under case No. 4962 for 2018, Al Maadi Misdemeanours. She was released on bail of 1,000 pounds. She was sentenced in absentia to three months in prison and a fine of 5,000 pounds on 8 April 2018.
