Manal Mohamed Al-Morsi ‘s house was raided and she and her sons were arrested on January 1, 2014. They were taken to Second New Cairo Section. The sons were released. She was detained on charges of belonging to a terrorist and banned group, organizing marches, distributing leaflets, provoking riots, spreading strife, inciting not to go to the referendum on the constitution, incitement of students to demonstrate in universities, and writing on the walls of buildings and schools. She was renewed until she was released on bail of 3 thousand pounds on March 1, 2014 – Violations: She suffers from a sensitivity on her chest, and the prison prevented her from receiving treatment – In the last week of February 2014, she obtained release, but the prosecution appealed and the prison refused to transfer her hearing. Legally her detention was dropped immediately, but the prosecutor postponed the appeal for another day – she went on a hunger strike despite her age and her health, in protest against her imprisonment.
