Mohamed Abo El-Wafa was arrested on 27 December 2019 from his home in the Albanian region of Suez and forcibly disappeared until he was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on 25 February 2020 under the case 1530 for 2019, the Supreme State Security . He was charged with the crimes of participation in a terrorist group in achieving its objectives, receiving financing for terrorist purposes, participating in a criminal agreement for the purpose of committing a terrorist crime, assembly and using special accounts on the internet for the purpose of disturbing the law and public order.
