Mohamed Mahmoud was arrested as a minor, with others following demonstrations in Muharram Bey in Alexandria that took place after taraweeh prayers on June 30, 2014. They presented to the prosecution under case No. 9463 of 2014 administrative Muharram Bey and charged with demonstrating without a permit, joining a terrorist group, terrorizing citizens, disrupting traffic and public and private establishments, disrupting the movement of production, and shouting in order to provoke sedition by saying “down with the military” and the Ministry of Interior is thugs. The prosecution ordered him to be detained pending investigations.
