Mohamed Mostafa was arrested as a minor on March 17, 2014, following teh dispersal of demonstrations in the vicinity of Al-Azhar University in Daqahliya, and was detained amidst case No. 4534 of 2014, Met Gamar Crimes. He was charged with disturbing the peace, resisting authorities, injuring a Major General and recruits, distributing pamphlets to overthrow the government, violating the demonstration law, and inciting demonstrations. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison on January 19, 2015.
