Mona Mahmoud was arrested from the nursery that she works in in Matarya on March 27, 2018, and subjected to enforced disappearance for nearly 20 days. She was first presented before the State Security Prosecution on April 17, 2018 under case No. 621 of 2018, Supreme State Security . The prosecution ordered her to be detained pending investigations and she was transferred to El Qanater prison. Her detention was renewed until she was released with precautionary measures on July 22, 2019.
