Motaz Ahmed was arrested amidst the revolution’s fourth anniversary near Kobri Bulaq in Al Agouza and Sudan street in Giza on 25th January 2015. He was detained under case No. 635 of 2015, Al Agouza, administrative, registered under No. 12033 of 2015, Al Agouza felonies and total No. 2556 of 2015, North Giza. He was accused of joining the illegally found terrorist Brotherhood group which aims to overthrow the regime and harm the national unity. The group was also accused of possession of weapons and ammunition, obscuring traffic, use of force and violence against public officers, and assembly with an aim to commit murder and cause damage. He was released later and he was sentenced in absentia to ten-year prison on May 26th, 2016.
