Nader Mohamed Gaber

Nader Mohamed was arrested in his home in Alexandria as a minor on December 30, 2013. He was tortured in the Ramel police station for four days, in order to confess to fabricated charges related to political issues. Then he was presented to the prosecution, which ordered his detention pending investigations under case No. 22560 of 2013. He obtained release on December 16, 2014, but he remained in custody as he was held in a new case known as “deportation” during the events of Kom Al-Dakka. He was remanded in custody and sentenced to two years in prison and probation on March 17, 2016. – Violations: – he was beaten and tortured in Al Raml section when he was arrested – forcibly transferred to Al Aqabiya several times – violations and beatings in the events of Kom Al-Dikka which led him to enter into a hunger strike – intransigence in allowing him to take the secondary examinations – medical negligence, as he suffers from a herniated disc, which affects his nerves, and was increased by torture. He was detained in the hospital for several days, but he wasn’t operated on because he needs a specialist and neurologist (not available in the hospital). His pain worsened because of his frequent transportation, travelling long distances, sitting in the deportation vehicle and the bad condition of the place where he sleeps – rotation: charged under a new case under which he was sentenced.
