Omar Ibrahim was arrested as a minor from his house in al Fayum on March 4, 2019. He was forcibly disappeared for about two weeks until he appeared on the State Security Prosecution on March 18, 2019, accused under case No. 488 of 2019, Supreme State Security , known as the “Al Safafeer case”. He was charged with participating in a terrorist group in achieving its purposes and spreading false news. He was detained pending investigation. He was released on precautionary measures on 19 September 2019, and the measures were cancelled on March 14, 2020. – Violations: – enforced disappearance for a period – he was beaten and tortured in the Directorate of Security of Fayoum on the first day of his detention.
