Security forces arrested Sara Abdel Moneim, a minor, and others in the vicinity of the Omar bin Abdul Aziz Mosque in Ismailia’s Al-Salam neighborhood during the break up of a demonstration on March 30, 2014. She was presented before the prosecution under case No. 3160 of 2014, Second Ismailia Misdemeanors. She was charged with joining a terrorist group, show of force, and demonstrating in violation of the law. She was imprisoned pending investigation. She was released on bail of 1,000 pounds on June 25, 2014. The case was referred in absentia on 15 December 2014 from Misdemeanor to a military court and she was sentenced to a fine of 50,000 pounds in absentia on 26 January 2016.
