Shaimaa Qasim was arrested on her way to repair her personal computer in the downtown area on September 27, 2019. She was forcibly disappeared until on September 30, 2019 when she appeared before the prosecution under case no. 1413 for 2019 Supreme State Security . She was accused of participating in a terrorist group to achieve its goals, broadcasting and spreading false news, misuse of social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. She was released on parole on March 2, 2020 – It is reported that she was previously arrested on November 12, 2014 from in front of Al-Azhar University, and was released on November 17, 2014 on bail of 5,000 pounds – Violations she was subjected to: enforced disappearance – subjected to health neglect as she suffered from a tumor in her leg that needed to be removed, in addition to her severe need for care as she had had a previous operation which prevents her from standing alone without help.
