Shorouk Amgad was arrested on April 25, 2018 from the downtown area on her way to the metro. She was taken to the National Security Service, where she spent the night subjected to ttorture and threats of further abuse. She appeared the following day before the prosecution, charged under case No. 441 of 2018, Supreme State Security . The prosecution decided to detain her pending investigations and she was transferred to Al-Qanater prison. her detention was continually renewed until she was released with precautionary measures on July 30, 2019, and the measures were cancelled on March 1, 2020 – Violations: – she was detained for a night in the National Security Service during which she was beaten, insulted, humiliated, harassed and threatened with rape.
