The security forces arrested Somaia Beshr from Syria Street with 20 other girls from the movement “7 al-Sabah” after they demonstrated in Sidi Jaber on 31 October 2013. They were taken to the Alexandria Security Directorate. She was subjected to beatings and dragged during her arrest. She was presented to the prosecution under case No. 25790 for 2013 Misdemeanors Sidi Jaber. She was imprisoned under investigations. On 27 November 2013, she was sentenced to 11 years, one month in prison, a fine of 500 pounds, and 4 years under police surveillance.
