Youssef Shaaban was arrested as a minor on September 30, 2014 and forcibly disappeared for days, during which he was tortured and electrocuted at fayoum police station to force him to confess. He then appeared under case No. 4955 of 2014, administrative center Fayoum, charged with joining a terrorist group and shooting electrical transformers. He was detained pending investigations. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison in June 2015 – Violations he was subjected to: – subjected to enforced disappearance, torture and electrocution to force him to confess – detention with adults – trial before the military court instead of juvenile.
