Ola Hussein was arrested in her mother’s house in Nasser City on 12/11/16 while she was pregnant in the third month. She was arrested while she was searching for her husband, who had been forcibly disappeared days before her. She was disappeared for 2 days, then she appeared at prosecution and was attached to case No. 1040 of 2016, Supreme State Security , No. 165 of 2017 Military of Alexandria on charges of bombing the cathedral in Abbasiya, premeditated murder, joining a terrorist group, possession of fireworks for the purpose of killing, possession of weapons and ammunition. Her baby was born in prison after she suffered severe physical and psychological abuse. Her documents were referred to the mufti on 4/10/18 and he reduced the life sentence on 10/11/18. Her husband was executed in the same case. She is now a prisoner in Damanhur prison to serve the sentence. She has 3 children who are cared for by their elderly grandmother. – Violations she was subject to: medical negligence while she was pregnant and gave birth in prison, her health and the baby’s health deteriorated, she was even enforced to wean to leave the prison – the wardens enforced her to carry buckets of water while she was pregnant, she lost so much blood she almost lost her baby – solitary confinement – prevention from visitation and other means ofcommunication since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
