Hagar Hussein and others were arrested on May 4, 2014 while they participated in a march on Mohamed Naguib Street in the Al-Marj Police Station Department in Cairo Governorate chanting slogans against the army and the police. They were presented before the prosecution to investigate under case No. 12271 of 2014 Misdemeanor Al-Marg. Charges were brought against them for joining a group established in violation of the provisions of the law, demonstrating without permit, assembly and assaulting citizens, possession of inflammatory publications and special plates of torched police cars, and destruction of public and private property. She was released in August 2014. She is reported to have been arrested again in January 2015.
