Somaia Ahmed was arrested at Cairo airport on June 17, 2018 and forcibly disappeared for 3 days until she appeared before the prosecution under case 148 of 2017, Supreme State Security . A decision was issued to imprison her, and she was transferred to El Qanater prison. She remained in the prison until she was released on precautionary measures on June 15, 2019.
