Hayam Ahmed was abducted on May 12, 2014 from the street in Sohag governorate in Arabiya Malaki. She was interrogated in state security for three days during which she was subjected to assault. Her father was arrested with her to pressure her, but they released him due to his poor health condition. Then her brother, a doctor in Sohag University Hospital, was arrested to pressure her to confess to the names and places of the people who support sharia in the province. She appeared after that and was imprisoned under case No. 1613 and 1635 for 2014 Second Sohag Administration in the First Sohag Section. She was sentenced to three years in prison on July 4, 2016 and discharged after serving her sentence. Her mother died while she was in custody and she was not allowed to go out to see her or attend the funeral. – Violations: Enforced disappearance for three days at the National Security Headquarters, during which she was subjected to serious verbal and moral attacks, and her father and brother were arrested to pressure her to confess – she was prevented from visits; she was suffering from a herniated disc and an MRI was presented to the prosecution for her medical release, but to no avail – her mother died while she was a prisoner and she was prevented from attending the funeral.
