Amira Farag was arrested on May 1, 2014 from the headquarters of the Belady Foundation located on Mohammed Mahmoud Street after the security forces broke into it on the basis of a communication accusing the association of forcibly detaining children and exploiting them in demonstrations. She was taken to the department and presented before the prosecution and continually renewed under case No. 4252 for 2014 Abedin crimes. She was released in one of the hearings on December 17, 2016 on bail of 1,000 pounds due to her health status and she was acquitted on 16 April 2017. She suffered medical negligence in Al Qanatir prison, as she was vomiting blood and did not receive proper health care.
