Maha Saad was arrested on November 5, 2014 for participating in an event in Nasr City. She was presented before the prosecution under case no. 51681 for 2014, First Nasr City Misdemeanors. She was charged with joining a banned group, demonstration and assembly. She obtained a release on bail of 2,000 pounds the following day. She was sentenced in absentia to five years’ imprisonment on December 7, 2014.
