Naima Salama Ismail

Naima Salama and others were arrested on January 14, 2014 in the al-Khallawi area of Bashbra for participating in anti-referendum demonstrations against the constitutional amendments. She was detained amidst case No. 688 of 2014, Al Sahel Misdemeanors. She received a one-year prison sentence on March 17, 2014, which was commuted on appeal to six months and a fine of 50,000 pounds on 29 April 2014. She was discharged after serving her sentence in Al-Qanater prison. – Violations she was subjected to: – she and the girls with her were treated as if they were terrorists, by pointing guns at them, and the security refused to give them any juices. Clamps were put in their hands and they were transferred to the court complex in Al Jala for interrogation. Just as they arrived, the investigation was cancelled and they returned to the department again – she was abused in the Sahel department, and was not allowed her medicine, which she must take in specific doses due to her medical conditions – medical negligence and need for medical care, as she suffers from chest allergies, colon and gallbladder issues, and sudden shortness of breath which requires the use of an inhaler, in addition to suffering from obesity, which prevents her from running smoothly – she was beaten in the al-Qanater prison in what is known as the Qanater massacre.
