On November 3, 2014, security forces arrested Safa Hosny and another from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, alleging that they belonged to ISIS and promoted its ideas inside the university. They took them to a second section of Nasr City. They were presented before the prosecution under case 7184 of 2014, Second Nasr City Misdemeanors. The prosecution ordered her to be detained pending investigation. She was released on bail of 2,000 pounds on November 10, 2014.
