Somaia Abd El-Rahman was arrested in her home on August 27, 2013, after being accused of sending a letter to Ahmed Hassanein, deputy director of Giza security, in which she wrote, “God bless and may you be the best agent in the darkness.” It was presented to the prosecution under case No. 7269 for 2013, First October Misdemeanours. She was released the following day. She was sentenced in absentia to 6 months in prison and fined 500 pounds on May 15, 2014.
