Raia Abdullah was arrested at Cairo airport, along with her husband and daughter, while preparing to travel abroad on December 23, 2018. She was subjected to enforced disappearance until she appeared before the prosecution in January 2019 under case No. 844 of 2018, Supreme State Security . The prosecution ordered her to be detained pending investigations and she was transferred to El Qanater prison. They continued to renew her until she was released with precautionary measures on May 23, 2019 – Violations: – enforced disappearance for more than 20 days – medical negligence, as she suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure and underwent several surgeries on the knee and spine – intransigence in the implementation of the release decision, as she was released 10 days later.
