Hedya Abdul Aziz was arrested on January 25, 2014 from the Area of Al-Ataba Square and Opera during the events of the third anniversary of the revolution and was presented before the prosecution, which was charged with joining a terrorist group, demonstrating without permit, assembly and chanting slogans against the army and police, possession and use of firearms, incendiary materials, firecrackers, obstructing the road and assaulting security, the prosecution ordered her to be detained under the case no. 936 of 2014 misdemeanours. She was sentenced to one year in prison on June 9, 2014 and acquitted on appeal on September 24, 2014.
