Eslam Gaber was arrested as a minor on April 2, 2015 in his house under case No. 1055 for 2015, Dalingat police station administration, on charges of demonstrating and joining the Brotherhood. He was detained pending investigation. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison on June 4, 2015. He filed a suspension of the sentence, and was released pending review of the appeal, after more than four months in prison. He was arrested again at the age of 17 from a private lesson centre in Al Buhayra, after security forces raided the centre in search of him and arrested him among the students on April 2, 2017. He was also arrested on September 20, 2019 and forcibly disappeared until he appeared on September 30, 2019 and was remanded in custody in case 1338 for 2019, State Security .
