Shady Khaled was arrested three times as a minor. The first time was on December 1, 2013, during demonstrations with Commander Ibrahim in Alexandria, and he was released on bail of 1,000 pounds on December 3, 2013. The second time on December 27, 2013, he was arbitrarily arrested on a street in Alexandria and charged with demonstrating without permit and assembly under case 210 of 2014, juvenile misdemeanours. He was detained pending investigations. The Child Misdemeanours Court granted him bail of 10,000 pounds on April 2, 2014 and suspended the claims pending the adjudication of adult lawsuits. The third time was on May 30, 2014, and he was remanded in custody until he was acquitted on August 11, 2016. In the first case, he was sentenced to three years in prison on July 4, 2014 and acquitted on appeal on February 24, 2016. In the second case, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison on February 19, 2015. He appealed and it was commuted to three months imprisonment on July 26, 2015. He was acquitted in the third case and released on August 19, 2016. – Violations: – he was beaten and tortured in 2014 – subjected to medical negligence, as he underwent an operation in his abdomen in November 2014; he is imprisoned in al Aqabiya and his condition deteriorated due to his need for medical care – he went on a hunger strike in Kom Al-Dikka and needed to hang solutions in February 2016.
