Ahmed Mohamed El-Sayed Huseein Bedar

Ahmed Mohamed was arbitrarily arrested in the street amidst the events of the revolution’s third anniversary on January 25th, 2014 in Mansoura. He was detained under case No. 706 of 2014, administrative, Mansoura First for joining an illegally formed group, possession of explosives and printouts to disrupt the law, assembly and demonstration without permit. On June 23rd, 2014, he was sentenced to 10-year prison. He filed an appeal to reduce his sentence to 3 years on January 14th, 2016. He was transferred to Borj El-Arab prison on February 24th, 2016. He was subject to:
– Beating and torture in Mansoura First
– A hunger strike with others on November 11th, 2014 in protest at the maltreatment and different violations they were subject to during detention.
The security forces assaulted them by beating and stealing their belongings. They were placed in disciplinary custody during their strike. On November 21st, they ended the strike after achieving some demands.
