Abd El-Hamid Ali was arrested as a minor during the October 6th events at Dokki Bridge and Mosaddegh Street on October 6, 2013. He was presented before the prosecution under case No. 166 for 2014, Giza Minors misdemeanours. He was charged with joining a terrorist gang, assembly, show of force, assaulting security, destroying private property and possessing bladed weapons. The prosecution ordered his detention pending investigations. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 100,000 pounds on 29 April 2014. He appealed the sentence to commute it to two years imprisonment on July 19, 2014. He was granted a presidential pardon on June 17, 2015, before the expiry of his term.
