Mohamed Maher was arrested as a minor from his home in Kafr Saqr in Sharqiya Province in 2015. Security forces went to arrest his father and when they did not find him, they arrested him to pressure the father to turn himself in. Several cases were fabricated and he was detained pending investigation. He was acquitted under case No. 14 of 2016, juvenile appellant, on April 5, 2016. In another case on March 27, 2016, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison – Violations he was subjected to: he and others went on hunger strike due to the poor conditions of detention, tight space, and skin diseases in Kafr Saqr police station – subjected to torture at San al Hajr police station.
