Ahmed Khaled Torky

Ahmed Khaled was arbitrarily arrested on April 19, 2015, from Suez Canal Street in Mansoura, charged with demonstrating, assembly, and show of force. He was detained pending investigation, and sentenced to two years in prison on June 17, 2015. He appealed the decision and was acquitted on July 21, 2015. He was rearrested on April 25, 2016 while walking on Al-Ta’a Street in Mansoura. He was remanded in custody and released on June 16, 2016. – Violations he was subjected to: – Medical negligence, as he suffers from asthma and needs daily treatment and care, which of course was not available in the juvenile prison in Badkrins. He was transferred to the second section of Mansoura and his health care was neglected, which resulted in shortness of breath and loss of consciousness several times. – Tortured on the first days of his detention after his second arrest – he suffered torn ligaments and a suspected rupture in the cruciate ligament, as a result of the torture he suffered in the first days of his detention inside Dekrens prison for Dakhliya events. His condition worsened; a date has been set for his surgery, but the prison administration has been intransigent and refuses to treat him.
