Ahmed Younes was arrested amidst Cairo university events in Giza university metro on January 16th, 2014. He was detained in Wadi El-Natrun prison under No. 569 of 2014 Giza station department. he was accused of joining an illegally formed group, demonstration without permit, assembly, resisting authorities, use of force and violence against public officials. The public prosecutor ordered his release on September 17th, 2014.
