Alaa Yasser and her father were arrested on August 3, 2019, and were forcibly disappeared until she appeared before the prosecution office on August 31, 2019, accused under case No. 1269 of 2019 Supreme State Security . The prosecution charged her with joining a group established in violation of the provisions of the law, the purpose of which is to call for the suspension of the provisions of the constitution and laws and to prevent state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work. She was also charged with publishing false news about the political and economic situation in the country with the aim of disturbing the public peace within the framework of the goals of the terrorist Brotherhood, and promoting the goals of the group that aims to undermine confidence in the Egyptian state and its institutions. She was sentenced to imprisonment under investigations. She obtained a precautionary release on February 26, 2020, and the measures were canceled on March 28, 2020 – Violations she was subjected to: – enforced disappearance for nearly a month during which she was threatened, tortured with electricity, and she heard the torture of her father.
