The security forces in Damietta broke into Amal Abd El-Fattah house and arrested her on May 3, 2018. She was taken to an unknown destination. She remained under enforced disappearance until she appeared before the prosecution on June 2018, charged under case 32 of 2017, Supreme State Security Crimes, known in the media as the “State of Upper Egypt” case. She was ordered to imprisonment pending investigations. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison on November 8, 2018 and is currently being held in Al-Qanater prison serving the sentence. – Violations: – Subjected to enforced disappearance for a period – prevention of visits and other means of communication for months starting from the Corona crisis.
