Amal Nabawy was arrested on October 7th, 2022, from the airport while she was traveling to her son, Abdul Rahman Shaheen, who works for Al Jazeera news channel. The National Security stopped her at the airport and informed her that she was included in the terrorist lists, and she was banned from traveling. She was taken into custody and then she was presented before the prosecution on October 9th, 2022 and imprisoned in case No. 1053 of 2020.
