Hamza Azoz Abd El-Halim Soltan

Hamza Azoz was arbitrarily arrested as a minor in Alexandria on December 27, 2013, charged with demonstrating without permit and assembly under case No. 210 for 2014, juvenile misdemeanour. He was detained pending investigations. The Child Misdemeanours Court ordered his release on bail of 10,000 pounds on April 2, 2014 and suspended the claims under the adjudication of adult lawsuits. He was arrested again as a minor on October 31, 2014 and imprisoned pending investigations. He was acquitted on January 14, 2015. He was arrested again (no longer a minor) in connection with the Natharia complex demonstrations in Alexandria on December 9, 2015. He was impriosned amidst case no. 4371 for 2016, Bab Al Sharq Crimes. He was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on December 25, 2017. He was arrested on June 15, 2020 after his house was broken into. He was taken to an unknown location. This was after his cousin, the activist Mohamed Sultan, fiuled a law suit in the American court against the former prime minister, Hazim Al Bablawai, accusing the government of torturing him and subjecting him to violations during his detainment. He was then presented before the prosecution, charged with joining a banned group and spreading fake news. He was detained pending investigations.
