Jihad Ahmed was arrested in the Al-Shuhada metro station on November 21, 2013, while returning from the college, which coincided with an event. Jihad raised her hand with a Rubaa signal, in solidarity with the demonstrators. She was arrested and violently beaten until she lost consciousness. She was presented before the prosecution, which ordered her imprisonment under case No. 12170 of 2013 Misdemeanor Azbakeya, and she was transferred to Qanater prison. On December 24, 2013, her family was surprised by Jihad. Her right hand was broken and in a plaster cast, her face had severe bruises and a cut wound in her jaw, her face was swollen, and her left foot had a double fracture at the thigh and she could not move at all, and some bruises throughout her body. A catheter was inserted due to her inability to move. She also could not speak because of the injury to her jaw. The prison officer claimed that her injuries were a result of her falling out of bed. She got released on bail of 5 thousand pounds on January 8, 2014 and was released in a wheelchair as a result of what she had been subjected to in al-Qanater prison. Violations to which she was subjected: – She was dragged and violently beaten during her arrest until she lost consciousness – moral compulsion and heard the sounds of torture all night – She was tortured in Qanater prison – She was twice subjected to virginity tests – Banned from visitors – She was subjected to medical negligence and denial of proper medical care for her condition.
