Ola Tarek was arrested in a commercial store in Al-Hosary Square on December 24, 2013, following the break up of an event in front of the University of October 6. She was imprisoned under case 12128 of 2013 1st October Misdemeanor on the charge of demonstrating without permit, possession of fireworks, obstruction of a road, encroachment on security, possession of a bladed weapon, and belonging to a prohibited organization. Days after her arrest, the police accused her of writing anti-army and police slogans on the wall of her cell in the 1st October police station, and case No. 5320 of 2014 was made. She was released on January 18, 2014. She was acquitted in the second case on December 11, 2014, and the original case had already been closed. – Violations to which she was subjected: – Making a case from within – imprisonment with criminal offenders – prevented from attending her first term exams, which caused her to lose an entire academic year.
