Karim Mohamed was arrested as a minor with others on October 9, 2013 during the events of the second anniversary of the Maspero events in downtown. He was charged under case No. 10073 of 2013, misdemeanours of the Nile Palace, with vandalism, resisting the authorities, assaulting security with stones, terrorizing citizens and repeating anti-military and police statements. He was detained pending investigation. He obtained bail of 2,000 pounds on 12 October 2013. The court ordered his referral to the Children’s Court in May 2014.
