Mahmoud Shams El-Din Shams was arrested by security forces when they raided Al imam Al Maraghi high school in Al Maragha, Sohag on February 25th, 2015. He was accused of operating a web page and inciting demonstrations and violence. He was also detained on remand under Al Maragha events case in which he was sentenced in his presence to five-year prison on May 10th, 2017. He was subject to:
– beating, torture and electrocution.
– medical negligence as he has skin diseases due to the poor ventilation and detention conditions.
