Mawada Osama was arrested as a minor on January 14, 2014 while participating in a march in Nasr City. She was taken to the first section of Nasr City and released the following day. She was arrested again on July 2, 2015 in the vicinity of al-Ahli Club and was presented before the prosecution under case No. 28947 for 2015, Nasr City. She was released on bail of 5 pounds on July 4, 2015 and acquitted on January 19, 2017. She was also arrested at the age of 18 on June 24, 2019, in order to force her father, Dr. Osama al-Aqbawi, a member of the Istiqlal Party’s High Committee, to turn himself into national security officers for not being present during the break-in. Although Dr. Osama turned himself in to national security after submitting a report to the public defender in the new Cairo prosecutor’s office, he and his daughter were subjected to enforced disappearance until they appeared for interrogation at the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the fifth assembly in various cases. She was investigated under case No. 5315 for 2019, first assembly Misdemeanors, and held in El Qanater prison until she was released and discharged on March 27, 2020. – Violations she was subjected to: – Enforced disappearance for three days.
