Mohamed El-Sayed was arrested in Port Said as a minor on September 20, 2019 amidst the events of September 20, 2019. He was forcibly disappeared until he appeared before the prosecution on September 25, 2019 under case No. 1338 of 2019, the Supreme State Security . He was charged with participating in a terrorist group in achieving its purposes, broadcasting and spreading false news, abusing social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit.
