Mohamed Shaaban was arrested as a minor on April 2, 2015, during a raid on Al Buhayra on the basis of an arrest warrant under case No. 1254 of 2015, Dalingat Administration. He was charged with joining a group founded against the law, inciting demonstrations, and acts of violence. He was arrested again on October 14, 2016 from the house and forcibly disappeared for days. He was arrested for the third time also from the house in Dalingat on February 20, 2017, and was investigated under case 1281 of 2016 on charges of joining a group founded in conflict with the law and demonstrating without a permit. He was detained pending investigation and then released on bail of 5,000 pounds on February 27, 2017.
