Mohand Ehab was arrested as a minor randomly from the Sidi Besher area of Alexandria on December 27, 2013. He was charged with demonstrating without a permit and assembly under case No. 210 for 2014, juvenile misdemeanour. He was detained pending investigations. The Child Misdemeanour Court ordered his release on bail of 10,000 pounds on April 2, 2014 and suspended the claims under the adjudication of adult lawsuits. He was arbitrarily arrested again at the age of 18 from an ambush on Abu Qir Street in Glim on January 21, 2015. He was detained under the case No. 873 for 2015, Al-Raml first administrative, then released on July 26, 2015 after the deterioration of health as he had leukemia. His body did not respond to treatment due to his serious condition, and he died after his release in October 2016. He was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison on 27 April 2018 after his death. It is reported that he was previously arrested at the Security Directorate in Alexandria and released in the same day, after being beaten inside the armored vehicles and the directorate.
Violations:
– he was beaten in the armored vehicle and the directorate on August 17, 2013.
– he was beaten and tortured on 2014 and went on a hunger strike.
– He was subjected to medical neglect in Burj Al Arab prison in 2015, as his health deteriorated; he fainted in court and was transferred to the hospital. The prison administration refused to give him medication and solutions. It was later proven that he had leukemia. He was released, but his condition deteriorated and he died after his release in October 2016. His body did not respond to the treatment due to the delay in receiving it and the spread of the disease.
