Nazli Selim was first arrested on 26 November 2013 under the charge of demonstrating without a permit, violating the new protest law, as she participated in demonstrations in front of the Shura Council in protest of the new protest law and others. They were assaulted, dragged and harassed during their arrest until their release in the Upper East Side and their dismissal from the record. Then on January 25, 2014 she was arrested by the Al Maadi for participating in the event of the third January Revolution. They were taken to the Al Maadi station under case No. 512 for 2014, Al Maadi Administrative, added to records numbers 518, 519 and 520 for 2014, Al Maadi Administration, and registered under 2666 for 2014, Al Maadi Misdemeanour. She obtained a release on 27 January 2014 on bail of 1,000 pounds. She was sentenced on 5 March 2014 to a fine of 100 thousand pounds in absentia.
