Omar Samir Badawy Abdullah

Omar Samir was first arrested as a minor on September 21, 2014, during a visit to his uncle, who was detained at the Derb Najm police station. He was taken to an unknown destination. He was arrested for the second time as a minor on January 25, 2016 and was remanded in custody under case No. 3092 for 2016, Derb Najm. He was sentenced to one year in prison with expenses on 31 July 2017 and discharged on August 13, 2017. He was arrested for the third time, and was still a minor, on September 14, 2017 from the home in Derb Najm, Sharqiya. He was remanded in custody pending investigation, and was sentenced on January 29, 2018 to 10 years in prison under case No. 4227 for 2017. He appealed the verdict to obtain his acquittal on July 25, 2018. He was arrested again from his home on 6 May 2019 (no longer a minor) and was remanded in custody pending investigation and then released on 25 September 2019. But the interior department was intransigent in implementing the decision.
