She was arrested on March 29, 2023, because someone named Ta’ima asked her about someone named Shaaarawi who was detained in Al-Bustan, a political detainee who was prohibited from visitation and any communication. Ta’ima asked if she knew someone who could help, and she mentioned that she knew someone named Mahmoud, a national security officer. This conversation took place at the beginning of March. Mahmoud asked her for 7000 pounds to ‘fix things’ and get guarantees for him. She gave the money to Mahmoud in Nasr City. Later, Ta’ima started claiming that nothing happened, that it was all a scam, and demanded the money back, threatening her with filing a report. Mahmoud was a big scammer, tricking many people, until he was arrested on March 9th. They monitored his phone conversations, including messages on WhatsApp, and they demanded the money from her. Eventually, the money was returned to Ta’ima from her pocket. Afterward, they arrested her and her husband on Wednesday from Egypt-Sudan Street in Kobri Al-Qubah. She remained detained in Hada’iq Al-Qubah in the name of Hada’iq in National Security in Al-Qubah until today, and then she was deported to Qanatir Prison.
