Rabab Abd El-Mohsen’s house was raided in the 10th district and she was arrested on October 15, 2016. She remained in enforced disappearance until she appeared at the State Security Prosecution on October 26, 2016 and was interrogated amidst case No. 785 of 2016, Supreme State Security . She was imprisoned and transferred to the El Qanater prison. her detention was continually renewed despite her cancer and deteriorating health. She was released on October 6, 2019. – Violations: – enforced disappearance for more than 10 days – medical negligence, as she suffers from “Virus C”, and likely has cancerous spots on the liver. However she was not provided with health care or the necessary treatment. She felt nauseous and vomited blood because of intransigence in transferring her to a hospital suitable for her health condition. – She demanded an x-ray at al-Qasr Al-Aini hospital after she began vomiting black blood repeatedly, accompanied by severe, intolerable pain, so that the illness could be accurately diagnosed and she could get treatment. However, the prison administration refused her request based on a report from the prison doctor denying her illness and saying she had a stomachache. – She was subjected to serious medical negligence in El Qanater prison as well as subjected to the prison administration’s recklessness in dealing with her illness. They brought her from the hospital to the prison with the IV still in her arm on 26 August 2019, despite knowing the difficulty her body would have responding to the IV, due to damage in her veins. Leaving the hospital in this way led to a new setback, as before she had suffered from a very small cancerous liver spot, but now it became an enlarged cancer. She vomited blood continuously, and entered a coma. Things went from bad to worse.
